Soundscapes
You can listen to examples of soundscape compositions. I work with environmental sounds from various locations. Sometimes I begin with natural sounds and then move into more abstract sound worlds related to these sounds.
Charroux soundscapes
The following four soundscapes were specially composed and performed during a concert by the Hershel string quartet. The audience was asked to stay silent between the music pieces e.g. Samuel Barber's Adagio for Strings or Arvo Pärt's Fratres. The concert took place on 30 July 2016 in Charroux, France as part of the Charroux Classique series.This was a innovative way of presenting classical music with new, contemporary art practices, i.e. soundscape composition and electroacoustic music. A 73 year old woman commented: "After hearing the soundscapes I could listen even more intensely to the music".
